You Don’t Have to Hold It All, Sister: The Power of Collaboration for Retreat Leaders

Hey you, beautiful soul, powerhouse of a woman, I see you. You, the one orchestrating the magic, weaving together soul-shifting retreats that hold space for others to heal, grow, and awaken to their power. You’ve got the calling, the gift, the fire. And girl, I know how much it takes.

From the outside, people see your glow: the serene smile, the carefully curated spaces, the transformative experiences you create. But inside, you know the truth—there’s a whole lot of hustle behind that harmony.

You’re the visionary, the coordinator, the emotional anchor, the marketer, the logistics manager, the chef (or the one making sure the chef gets paid and possibly holding space for them during their moments we can all experience in retreat space). You’re even the person refilling the tissue box because someone’s breakthrough deserves softness, not an empty box.

It’s beautiful work. But it’s work. And if you’re feeling stretched thin, if the burnout whispers (or screams) are creeping in, let’s pause for a moment. I’m here to tell you something important, something you need to hear: You don’t have to do it all. You don’t have to be it all.

The Invisible Weight of Leading Retreats

Leading a retreat is like being at the center of a symphony. You’re not just playing your instrument; you’re conducting the entire orchestra, fine-tuning each note so your attendees leave transformed.

But here’s the thing: Even the best conductors don’t play every instrument.

When you try to be everything to everyone—teacher, guide, friend, planner, problem solver—you risk depleting the very magic that makes your retreats so special: you. Your wisdom, your intuition, your joy.

And let’s be real, burnout doesn’t just quietly knock on the door. It busts in, throws your rhythm off, and leaves you questioning everything.

Sister, I know you’ve felt it. Maybe not full-force yet (and if that’s true, praise be!), but I bet the signs are there:

  • You’re up at midnight tweaking the itinerary—again—because it has to be perfect.
  • You’re fielding late-night texts from a participant who suddenly wants to know if there’s oat milk available (because of course, they just remembered their allergy).
  • You’re so busy holding space for others that your own self-care has become an afterthought.

Sound familiar?

You Were Never Meant to Do This Alone

Let me say this louder for the women in the back: Retreat leadership is not a solo act. It never was, and it shouldn’t be.

And yet, I know how hard it can be to loosen your grip. You’ve worked so hard to build your vision, to make it yours. The idea of letting go—of trusting someone else to hold the reins, even for a moment—feels risky.

But here’s the truth: letting go isn’t about losing control. It’s about gaining freedom.

You are not just a space holder; you’re part of a greater weave of dreamers, weavers, creators, builders, stewards, activators, and amplifiers. When you allow yourself to lean into that web, truly incredible things happen.

Collaboration: The Secret to Longevity

Letting others in isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a radical act of self-care and embodied trust. It’s a recognition that your mission is bigger than you, and that others—fellow leaders, coordinators, creatives, and supporters—are here to help amplify your vision.

Imagine this:

  • A collaborator who handles the nitty-gritty logistics so you can focus on your unique magic.
  • A co-facilitator who complements your energy and allows you to share the weight of emotional labor.
  • A team of weavers who help hold the container so you can step out of “fixer mode” and into flow.
  • Your community members having opportunities to deepen their learnings through service in other spaces to strengthen your core team…without you having to pour even more into everyone than you already do

Sister, you deserve that.

You deserve to show up to your retreats full of energy and joy, not frazzled from juggling ten different roles. You deserve to be surrounded by a community of women who catch you when you fall, who cheer for you when you rise, and who inspire you to dream even bigger. And you don’t have to develop them all on every way yourself! Live in your magic! Invite collaboration in to do the rest.

But What About “Perfection?”

Oh, I hear you. You’re thinking, “But no one will do it like I do. What if something goes wrong?”

Trust me, I get it. You’ve built something extraordinary, it’s your baby, and the idea of handing over pieces of it feels like handing over your heart. But here’s the thing: perfection isn’t the goal. Impact is.

When you collaborate, you create space for your mission to grow in ways you can’t do alone. Yes, things may look a little different than what you envisioned, but often, they’re even better. Because you’re not the only one dreaming. You’re co-creating with people who bring fresh energy, perspectives, and ideas to the table.

And sister, let’s not forget: your attendees don’t need perfection. They need you. Fully present, fully alive, fully aligned with your purpose.

The Freedom of Being Held

I know you’re a holder of space. It’s your superpower. But have you ever let someone hold space for you?

Imagine stepping into a space of women who get it. Women who’ve walked this path, who’ve faced the burnout, the self-doubt, the pressure to do it all. Imagine being held, supported, and activated by their collective energy.

Being connected to the right resources to support with administration tasks, the opportunity to deepen connection and explore resonance with collaborators to co-facilitate, filling your cup and being inspired to level up your service from that authentic place of overflow.

That’s the power of connection, of collaboration, of trusting the weave.

When you surround yourself with other leaders, something shifts. You realize you’re not alone in this work. You feel seen, heard, and understood. You tap into a collective strength that propels you forward, not because you’re hustling harder, but because you’re letting others help carry the load.

Permission to Let Go

So here’s my invitation to you, sister: Let go. Trust the weave.

Say yes to the collaborators who light you up. Say yes to the organizers and assistants who free up your time. Say yes to the community that lifts you higher.

You don’t have to be every role, every solution, every answer. You were never meant to.

And when you allow yourself to step back, even just a little, you’ll find that the world doesn’t fall apart. Instead, it expands. Your vision grows, your energy replenishes, and your impact deepens.

Your Next Step

What would it look like to take one thing off your plate today? Could you delegate that pesky administrative task? Reach out to a fellow facilitator for support? Ask for help from someone who shares your vision?

You don’t have to do it all at once. Start small. But start.

And remember, sister, you’re not alone in this. There’s an entire community of leaders, healers, feelers, and dreamers ready to walk alongside you, to hold space for you, to amplify your magic.

Let them in. Let us in.

Because when you stop trying to hold it all, you create space to be held—and that, my friend, is where the real magic begins.

You’ve got this. Leaders lead themselves. Your soul knows the way! Leaders just need a space to be held. And we’ve got you.

Interested in joining a space for Soul Led Leaders to be held? A space that doesn’t require you to serve but rather to be supported.

With heart-centered connections who are ready to support retreat planning, preserve amazing relationships with stewards of sacred lands and spaces around our beautiful Pachamama, and have the skills and experience to consider as co-facilitators?

Your soul knows the way. We might not even need to introduce you to these people. You will feel their resonance. You all just need a space to be held.

Join…set up email list for upcoming community membership. Offer free to several ppl who’ve invested heavily in my growth. Solve their problems with support from Krysten and iron out energy exchange details.

Different pricing structures for leaders, stewards, weavers, etc.

One is essentially basic membership, build your own relationships, find your own connections resources/templates/etc)

One is more curated “done for you” – join membership but instead of it becoming something. Else you have to manage NF/team handled curated connections – custom solutions to your issues or the right resource who can help solve it, etc.

some energy exchange/service required by all community members

  • Leaders – 1 offering every month or possibly quarter as we grow (can share more). Can be anything in your library or even live call if want to invite others
  • Weavers – Support leaders with a service based project (learn to make good agreements with leaders around energy exchange, understand the value you are bringing or not, and follow through)
  • Stewards – perhaps share teachings in aligned way for them?

With so much love,

Someone who sees YOU. Fully.
